Brisbane’s Hungry Kids of Hungary have just been announced as the Queensland winner of the Triple J Unearthed competition and will play 2009’s Big Day Out. Winning the competition will see the band play on the Hot Produce stage at the Gold Coast Parklands Sunday, January 18 on a bill that includes the likes of Neil Young, Tv On The Radio, Arctic Monkeys, My Morning Jacket and The Living End.

This comes at a time that sees the band enjoying the fruits of a hectic year that has seen them release their debut, self-titled EP, score rotation on Triple J with their single ‘Set It Right’ and play alongside some mighty fine talent including The Boat People, The Devoted Few, The Seabellies, The Basics, The Bawdies (Japan), Little Scout, Cuthbert & The Night Walkers and many more.

Elsewhere in Camp Hungry, the band have just released their debut video clip for single ‘Set It Right’. The single has already featured as Rage’s Indie Single Of the Week and is currently featured on the front page of the Rage website – CLICK HERE.
